How to Use Your Blessings Wisely

Did you know that a blessing could turn into a curse? It sounds strange, but it’s true. Apostle Dr. Ankur Yoseph Narula of Ankur Narula Ministries teaches us how to use your blessings wisely so that they remain a source of joy and growth, not a path to downfall. It’s not the blessing itself, but how we handle it that truly matters. The Cup of Blessing: A Biblical Foundation In 1 Corinthians 10:16, we read: “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” This verse highlights the cup, a symbol of Jesus Christ’s blood, as a cup of blessing. The Bible itself is a source of blessing. Revelation 1:3 tells us that simply reading the Bible brings a blessing. But what happens when blessings are misunderstood or misused? Barak: Understanding the Nuances of Blessing The Hebrew word “Barak” (Greek 1288) is fascinating because it holds a dual meaning. It means both “to bless God” and, conversely, “to curse God.” How can one word mean such opposite things? This highlights the complexity of blessings. The same word used to express gratitude and praise can also be used in a way that brings harm. In Genesis 14:19, we see Abraham blessed by the Most High God: “And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth.” This illustrates the positive intention behind a blessing, but “Barak” reminds us that blessings can be twisted. The Warning: The Lord’s Supper and Self-Examination Paul addresses the misuse of communion in the Corinthian church in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. Specifically, verses 27-30 warn us that taking communion unworthily leads to guilt, sickness, and even death. “Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” How can communion, a sacrament meant to bring us closer to God, become a “cup of cursing?” It comes down to our hearts and our attitudes. Discerning the Lord’s Body: It’s About More Than Bread and Wine “Discerning the Lord’s body” isn’t just about the physical elements of bread and wine. It’s about recognizing and honoring the people who make up the church. We are all part of the body of Christ, and how we treat each other matters deeply. What are some ways we dishonor the body of Christ? Not forgiving others, holding grudges, gossiping, and shaming others are all ways we can misuse our blessings and turn them into curses. That’s why self-examination before taking communion is so important. Blessings Misused: Real-World Examples Think about it: blessings can easily become curses if we aren’t careful. A car, meant to be a blessing for transportation, can cause accidents if misused. Electricity, a blessing that powers our homes, can be deadly if mishandled. Anything given as a blessing has the potential to become harmful if it’s not used responsibly and with the right intentions. Church Problems: Identifying the Root Causes Apostle Narula addresses some specific issues within the church that can hinder blessings: Do you want to learn more about prayer, check out Ankur Narula Ministries’ fire prayers. Restoring Order: Claiming Your Blessings How do we turn curses back into blessings? Here are some practical steps: The Power of Commitment: Staying the Course Following biblical principles isn’t a quick fix; it requires commitment and perseverance. It’s a long-term investment in your spiritual life. Remember Jesus’s teaching about building a house on the rock (Matthew 7:24-27). Choose Blessing Today Blessings can become curses if mishandled. Examine your own life. Are you using your blessings wisely? Apply that principles and choose to handle your blessings in a way that brings joy, growth, and honor to God. The Secret of Thanking God In Advance

The Secret of Thanking God In Advance

Have you ever wondered how to unlock the supernatural power of faith in your life? It starts with a simple act: thanking God in advance. It sounds easy, but it’s a declaration of trust that can transform your waiting season into a time of incredible breakthroughs. This principle is at the heart of a powerful message shared on the Daily Jesus Devotional YouTube channel. It can shift your perspective and align you with God’s perfect timing. The Melody of Faith: Praising Before the Applause Think about a musician pouring their heart into a song, note by note, even before the audience applauds. They trust that their melody will resonate, that their passion will be felt. Thanking God in advance is like that. It’s not just wishful thinking; it’s a bold declaration of trust in His unfailing promises. Many of us wait until we see the evidence before we celebrate. But true faith? It celebrates before the answer arrives. This kind of faith, the kind that moves mountains and opens doors, is rooted in gratitude. Psalm 50:23 says, “Whoever offers praise glorifies me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Your thanksgiving, offered before the breakthrough, honors God and positions you for His divine intervention. Faith in Action: Unlocking the Supernatural Faith isn’t passive. It isn’t sitting silently, waiting for things to change. No, faith speaks, faith moves, and faith acts, even when the evidence hasn’t appeared yet. One of the greatest ways to demonstrate faith is by thanking God in advance, praising Him as if the promise is already fulfilled. This unlocks the supernatural and releases divine breakthroughs into your life. 2 Chronicles 20:22: Praise as a Weapon Remember the story in 2 Chronicles 20:22? The people of Judah faced a massive army. What did they do? They began to sing and praise the Lord. And what happened? God set ambushes against their enemies, and they were defeated. The battle was still ahead of them, but their praise activated Heaven’s response. The armies of God went before them and crushed the opposition before a single sword was drawn. That’s the power of thanking God in advance: a spiritual weapon that confuses the enemy and shifts the atmosphere in your favor. The Blind Man’s Breakthrough: Reaching for a Miracle Consider the blind man in Luke 18:40-42. Even before he received his sight, he cried out to Jesus, believing that healing was within reach. The crowd tried to silence him, but he cried out even louder. Jesus heard him and said, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” The blind man didn’t wait for his situation to change. He praised, he called out, and he reached for his miracle before he saw any evidence of it. Reach for your miracle. Trusting God’s Timing, Methods, and Power When you thank God in advance, you’re declaring that you trust His timing, His methods, and His power. You’re refusing to be controlled by what you see and choosing to be led by what you believe. This kind of faith makes the impossible possible. It’s not about ignoring reality, but about recognizing that God’s truth is greater than your current situation. Overcoming the Fear of Disappointment Do you ever hesitate to thank God too early? Do you fear disappointment, so you stay quiet, waiting for evidence before celebrating? Faith doesn’t work that way. It requires boldness, confidence, and a willingness to praise God, even when nothing around you has changed. Hebrews 11:1: Faith as Substance and Evidence Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” It’s the confidence that what God has promised is already in motion, even if you can’t see it yet. This kind of faith shifts seasons. It’s the faith that says, “I don’t need to see it to believe it. I believe it because God said it.” Thanksgiving: A Seed for Divine Intervention Some of the greatest miracles are waiting on the other side of thanksgiving. Not the kind of thanksgiving that comes after the blessing, but the kind that comes before it. When you thank God in advance, you activate the supernatural and align yourself with Heaven’s perfect timing. This isn’t just a feel-good principle. It’s a kingdom law. Your thanksgiving is a seed that brings forth a harvest of divine intervention. Every word of praise you release is watering the promises God has already planted in your life. What you thank Him for today will manifest in due season, bringing forth blessings beyond what you can imagine. Heaven responds when faith-filled gratitude rises, and nothing can stop what God has already set in motion. Surrendering to His Will: Thanksgiving as Alignment Thanking God in advance isn’t just a sign of faith. It’s a declaration that you trust His perfect will above your own desires. We often pray and wait for God to move, but few understand the power of aligning their hearts with His divine plan through thanksgiving. When you give thanks before the answer comes, you’re not just believing for an outcome; you’re surrendering to God’s wisdom, acknowledging that His ways are higher than yours. Isaiah 55:8-9: God’s Ways are Higher Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” This kind of faith doesn’t just ask for what seems best; it trusts that what God has planned is greater than anything you could imagine. The Canaanite Woman’s Faith: Pressing Beyond Obstacles Look at the story of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:28. She sought deliverance for her daughter. At first, Jesus seemed to ignore her. But she didn’t give up. She humbled herself and continued to worship. Jesus then said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you
